Is ChatGPT the New Google? Search Feature Launches

OpenAI is attempting to redefine the user’s search experience by offering an AI-powered alternative to traditional search engines. In July 2024, OpenAI started testing a new search feature of ChatGPT called SearchGPT with AI search features. After completion of initial phase of testing, OpenAI launched it in November 2024, but at that time this feature was available only to users with a paid subscription. As of today’s announcement, starting December 17, 2024, the new search feature of ChatGPT is now available to all users for free.  To use this new search feature of ChatGPT, you must have a free ChatGPT subscription. This new search feature of ChatGPT is designed to combine the power of AI models with information from the web. This will give you quick and timely answers to your queries with clear and relevant sources. In that way, OpenAI is attempting to establish itself as a strong competitor to Google and other established players in the field of internet search. At present, mobiles are being used more for internet surfing than laptops or desktops. Keeping this fact in mind, OpenAI has also introduced a mobile device-optimized version of its ChatGPT search feature. Due to which a smooth and efficient search experience can be achieved even on smartphones and tablets. ChatGPT now also offers an advanced voice search mode that lets users ask questions and receive answers through voice commands. Now you can search the Internet in hands-free mode without typing anything.  SearchGPT uses OpenAI’s advanced language models to better understand the context of queries and deliver more relevant and insightful results than traditional keyword matching. This AI powered search engine can summarize long articles and documents, saving users both time and effort. To summarize, ChatGPT uses a natural language interface to provide answers to search queries. Users can ask follow-up questions to further refine their search. ChatGPT Search can provide real-time results for the queries you request. ChatGPT search not only returns links to web addresses but also provides a brief summary of the information. It provides clear attribution and source links to help users verify information. It may also use videos and pictures to answer some queries. OpenAI is rapidly developing ChatGPT and adding new features, as AI-powered chatbots become increasingly popular. Google has already implemented AI models into its search engine, Gemini, which returns results in summary format. However, it still needs to be improved. OpenAI’s ChatGPT search feature looks better right now but it remains to be seen how Google further improves Gemini for all users.

OpenAI has offered a new subscription plan called ChatGPT Pro. This plan provides unlimited access to their most advanced language models, the o1 series. According to OpenAI, this model is designed to deliver faster, more accurate, and more powerful responses. This can be beneficial in the areas of coding, mathematics, and image-based reasoning. Advantages of ChatGPT Pro over ChatGPT Plus OpenAI already offers a premium subscription called ChatGPT Plus. Let us know how ChatGPT Pro is better than ChatGPT Plus. The most significant advantage that ChatGPT Pro gives is unrestricted access to the o1 model for its users. On the other hand, ChatGPT Plus subscribers have limited access to the o1 model. ChatGPT Plus subscriptions are available for $20 per month, while ChatGPT Pro subscriptions cost $200 per month. Let’s see what those domains are for which ChatGPT Pro can be useful. ChatGPT pro may appeal to data scientists, researchers, and developers who require precise coding, data analysis, or debugging capabilities for their work. It may also appeal to businesses that manage large-scale projects or are looking to streamline their workflows. It could be a useful tool for STEM students and professors who require advanced problem-solving or technical writing support. It can also be a great tool for legal and financial professionals as they require comprehensive text analysis or report generation on a daily basis. Is ChatGPT Pro Worth Upgrading? Who should upgrade to ChatGPT Pro? If you work in fields like programming, data science, or advanced research, or want to streamline workflows to handle large-scale projects, you should consider upgrading. If your requirements are more general, such as informal queries, light writing, or simple coding assistance, ChatGPT Plus is sufficient. Conclusion The ChatGPT Pro subscription plan seems to be designed for users who require the most advanced AI capabilities. Compared to ChatGPT Plus, Pro caters to advanced and enterprise-level users rather than casual users. If you need the most powerful and advanced AI capabilities then ChatGPT Pro might be the right choice for you.

Google’s Powerful AI Agent for Browsers in 2025

Google is reportedly working on a new AI tool, or, we can say, an AI agent for browsers, in a project codenamed ‘Project Jarvis‘ that will help automate everyday tasks on the web. This is going to revolutionize the way people browse the web. In this, it is possible to use a refined and advanced version of Google’s Gemini AI model. This version of Google Gemini will be specifically tuned for the Chrome browser, so chances are it will only work with the said web browser. This improved version of Gemini in Project Jarvis will be far more capable of understanding and writing text like a human. Reportedly, Jarvis will attempt to automate tasks that users routinely perform while browsing by analyzing a user’s web browsing habits in real-time. It would work by taking continuous screenshots of the user’s screen and analyzing those images. This AI agent for chrome browser will be able to understand and interpret instructions given by the user on visited web pages and perform actions for the user, such as clicking buttons or typing text. These are some of the possibilities that are being reported; its complete overview and full potential will be known only after its launch. According to some media reports, there is a possibility that Google may showcase this tool by December 2024. Google may initially test this tool with a limited number of users to make it bug-free. Apart from Google, there are many other tech giants who are working on similar technology. Prominent among them are anthropic Claude, Apple, Microsoft, and OpenAI. The deep integration of AI into web browsing may raise several privacy concerns. It will be interesting to see how the tech giants will resolve these concerns.
